Billy The Kid...

Still have not gotten to my summer comic book stack yet!

With that I was able to squeeze in "Billy the Kid" during the school year and it is really something interesting!

This is "Billy the Kid's Old Timely Oddities and the Ghastly Fiend of London" This is not the first of the series but for this story (4-Issue Mini Series) it is and it's a good one! From what I gather its a traveling group of "freaks" that all pretty much help each other out. This story is filled with plenty of surprises and humor just as Eric Powell (The Goon) should be! There are somethings missing but I can not blame it cause this is not the first story of the series so it leaves me a bit lost at times but it wasn't too difficult to figure out in the end. This is a dark, mystery, and story driven book with an amazing twist. It left me wanting to read more "old timely oddities."

Faster than a Speeding Bullet....

Alright I have not blogged in this since forever! I'm still reading comics religiously but i'm gonna make this post quick and short!

Super Dinosaur!!!!

New series by Robert Kirkman, Creator of Invincible and The Walking Dead, is an amazing book thus far! Although I only read issue 1.... I do have issue 2 so I plan to read that soon very very soon. In short its about a doctor who discovers dinosaurs still exist and he studies them uses them for good. Then we have the bad guy who uses them for evil. Super Dinosaur is given robot arms which he controls with his little tiny arms, which I think is awesome! This series just started so if anyone is going to get into comics this is it!

Nemesis and The Brightest Day is coming...

Alright so this week I have been hyping up Nemesis #1 written by Mark Millar and drawn by Steve McNiven. As always Green Lantern is always up there on my list. So let's start off with Nemesis.

Issue #1

I wish I got the Variant
So we can start with is WTF is this?! Well Nemesis is the world's smartest super villain. The comic is good overall I'm sure that it will become great. The writing is pretty sketchy because there is a lot of swearing. You can obviously see the story going somewhere and get a lot more interesting. The art has it moments but for McNiven its pretty shocking. There seems to be a lot of extra lines on the face... it makes it kinda awkward looking. I will definitely pick up the 2nd issue and hope that it does get a bit more interesting I would suggest it for anyone.

The world of DC is starting to shape up with things that are happening in GL's world. I am not posting up the cover because if you have been up to date with Blackest Night it will be a huge spoiler. Let's just say that Issue #52 of Green Lantern I felt could have been a lot better.

Till next Wednesday we have Blackest Night #8 for sure!

To Start...

Where to start... Well I have recently picked up a copy of Siege #3 quite interesting and it looks like marvel is finally coming around with their main event, although I wish it wasn't only 4 issues. Oh the many more comics I could read from marvel but have no money to spend on whats so ever. Unless, they have the name Captain America or Daredevil plastered on the cover I most likely will be too lazy to catch up on it.

Speaking of Daredevil.
. I recently picked up Daredevil: Born Again by Frank Miller and David Mazzucchelli, it was indeed a must read of any Daredevil fan. The way Miller wrote this showed us the side of Daredevil that was dark and gritty. I want to say that Matt Murdock is present like 80% if not 85% of the time. Not just Matt Murdock as Daredevil but Matt Murdock as a human being. It is definitely one of the tops on my list.

Also I was able to track down the Thor #601 Variant Issue entitled Thor Pod.
Drawn by Marko Djurdjevic.

Till the next visit I'm sure it'll be a Blackest Night blog.
